Building Pride
Commissioned by the Spanish Embassy in The Hague, I was invited to design and realise the visual identity of their boat for the Amsterdam Pride Canal Parade 2025. I approached the project as a collective, community-driven process. Over four months, the work evolved into a layered exploration of communal identity, queer visibility, and shared artistic practice.
Rather than designing the boat behind closed doors, I opened the process to the public. I organised participatory events, including the Inspiration Day and Collective Painting Days, where participants helped shape the boat’s visual language. As interactive, participatory installations, these sessions became an integral part of the project.
The entire process was documented by Touchy Studios, resulting in a dynamic video portrait capturing the preparations, challenges, and vibrant energy of collective work. This documentation was made possible through Voordekunst crowdfunding.
